Mona Newkirk

Associate Director, Clinical Affairs

Mona Newkirk joined VentiRx in May 2009 as Associate Director of Clinical Affairs. Ms. Newkirk brings with her over a decade of experience in R&D project management, encompassing Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, CMC, Marketing, Business Development, and Intellectual Property. Before joining VentiRx, Ms. Newkirk worked as a Senior Project Manager at PPD Inc., (NASDAQ: PPDI) a leading global contract research organization specializing in clinical trial management for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. In this role, she was responsible for the overall coordination and management of clinical trials from start up through close out in multiple oncology indications.

Prior to her work at PPD, Ms. Newkirk spent five years at Nastech (now MDRNA Inc.) as a Senior Project Manager, where she was successful in establishing a project management infrastructure within the organization. In this role, she was responsible for leading cross-functional drug development teams for programs in obesity, osteoporosis, diabetes, and allergy. She also worked at Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation (now Tekmira) as a Project Manager supporting IND and NDA filings for oncology trials in lymphoma, Hodgkins Disease and lymphoblastic leukemia.

Ms. Newkirk has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
